GARDEN OF LIGHT VILLA

My wife and I recently stayed at Garden of Light in N. Palmetto, Eleuthera. We have been coming to Eleuthera each spring for the past few years and have stayed in both small and large homes, always on the beach on the Atlantic side. We have enjoyed each of our stays and that certainly holds true for Garden of Light!

Coming to the Bahamas, one should be prepared to make some adjustments to what those of us from the States are accustomed. Pot holes on the roads, relatively expensive groceries & gas, inconsistent internet service, dishwashers (if they have them) which are spotty at best etc.

Garden of Light was a rare exception to some of these issues! Internet was fast and never went out! The dishwasher was newish and worked perfectly. The AC units were instant and powerful. The house thanks to Mrs. Williams, was spotless. The abundance of beach towels and sheets was a welcome treat. The gardens were beautiful and well maintained and the private path to the beach was wonderful (no shoes or sandals needed). The snorkeling right of the beach was super with healthy coral heads hosting a broad population of tropical waters fish life… loved the resident Nassau Grouper!

You can walk about a mile directly along the beach to Tippy’s… a must try for tourists looking for some decent conch fritters. Both Barbara and Mrs. Williams were excellent communicators and superb hosts.

We traveled to Eleuthera as a family of six to stay at the Garden of Light. We always tend to look for more quiet vacation rentals away from the crowds. The Garden of Light was an absolute perfect find for us! The house was great, it had everything we needed for our stay. Barbara was so helpful with giving us all the information we needed before our arrival and shared everything one might need to know about the island. Upon our arrival , Mr and Mrs Williams, the property managers, were there to greet us and answer any questions we had. If you needed anything during your stay, they were there for you. They even cooked us a fabulous dinner our last night there. They do catering on the side.

The beach was absolutely beautiful and we really had it all to ourselves. There are very few houses along the beach. Tippys restaurant was about a mile and a half walk away, which was great. There are many beautiful beaches to visit and restaurants to go to. It is good to make reservations ahead of time because they fill up fast. The people are so friendly and it feels very safe on the island. We had an amazing time at the Garden of Light and highly recommend staying here. It’s so beautiful, peaceful and relaxing! We can’t wait to go back!!!

The house was absolutely perfect, everything worked as promised. The beach is amazing and private, the house is secluded so you can enjoy the privacy but still a short drive to anything you might need in governers harbor! The property manager was super helpful when we arrived and helped us get in contact with everyone at the location. Just a tip for anyone looking for fresh fish, we didn’t have much luck in governers harbor but tarpum bay which is only 20 minutes away was perfect for that!

We loved our stay at Garden of Light. The property was perfect for us. My kids and I were able to have our own space downstairs and my father had his own space upstairs. Perfect after a long day exploring the island. Try as we might, we could not top the snorkeling at the beach in front of the house! The kids spent hours exploring the reefs and learning the names of the fish they saw. Having a virtually private beach was a luxury!
